About this deal

I did however love how the Kane family reunited and interacted throughout the book. It gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings to see all three brothers conquer their demons and create the family they deserved. Cal decides that it is finally time to get sober for himself and that he owes himself the changes that could come along with it. And, he decides that he would spend every last second of a sober life proving to Lana that he is the man that could give her and Cami a life filled with love.

The Dreamland Billionaires series has been one that I had wholeheartedly enjoyed. I read Fine Print a few years ago, and love the relationship between Zahra and Rowan. I waited months for Terms and Conditions to be released and went in with so many expectations and ideas about how I wanted the book to go. And although I enjoyed it, my expectations had not been met. the quotes and phrases in this book had me absolutely swooning, the way callahan admires and loves lana is beautiful and the bond between cal and cami is adorable.I was excited to read Final Offer, having enjoyed the previous books in the Dreamland series. I particularly liked the best friends to lovers to enemies to lovers trope, but I must have missed the fact that Cal was an alcoholic in the other books. As the three of them are forced to play house, they fall into a routine and it would be easy for Lana and Cal to imagine a life together but the looming end of the summer and Cal leaving is one of the things that has Lana holding onto any sense of letting herself fall again for the man who so obviously wants to become someone who is worthy of her time.

And Lana, as Cal calls her, is one of the strongest characters Lauren has written till the date. She’s an incredible woman, who’s so selfless, caring and loving, and that has been through a lot throughout her life. She’s an amazing person, who's willing to sacrifice herself to see the people she loves happy, especially when it comes to her daughter, Cami—who honestly, is a highlight and the star of the book. The mother-daughter relationship between them and how much they care for each other is beautiful. What I do like is that Asher does portray the FMC as a strong, no-nonsense woman and not some wash out about what she does and doesn't expect from life. I like that her work is well written and descriptive with well rounded characters. I enjoy the pace and the slow burn plus the tension build up between her enemies-to-lovers trope. With this Asher excels. I will be reading other work by her at some point in the near future.

Clare thought that by now she would have her life figured out. Instead, she's living with her parents, working a job she hates and has absolutely no idea what she wants to do with the rest of her life. Their story is also about forgiveness, trust and healing. It is full of angsty, but also beautiful moments. In general, the characters' pains, fears and feelings made them relatable, and their journeys and development were amazing and very well worked. Besides, I love how Cal made it clear that he wanted to get better not only for Lana and Cami, but for himself—for him to be the man he knows he can be, a man that deserves them. It showed how much he'd grown and it is the best development his character could've had! Cal’s personality is that he’s an addict with money, and the other characters’ personalities revolve around whether they have money or not. I struggled to remember the previous two books while reading this one, which suggests they are easily forgettable. However, I do recall being excited to read Cal’s book. An author of romance novels, Lauren Asher is well-regarded for writing emotional and engaging stories that really draw the reader in. Filling her books with angst and steam, she immerses her audience in her richly interwoven worlds that instantly grab the reader. Imaginative and compelling on every level, she perfectly understands her audience, knowing just where she wants to take them. This approach of hers has seen her become enormously successful worldwide, reaching a variety of different readers both nationally and internationally. the growing closeness between the three brothers toward the end of the book is a lovely way to wrap up the series. definitely one of my favourite books i’ve read!!

Now on to Lana... Omg, where do I even start with her. Certain parts of the book I really enjoyed Lana and love her personality, but at some moments and chapters I couldn't get with her and it also made me not want to finish the book. I get that Lana has trust issues and she doesn't want to trust Cal or let him in; even when he's trying his hardest to be the best and to be sober for her too. It gets to a point where you have to stop and think it through. Like when she eavesdropping (she doesn't mean to do it intentionally, it just happens) and she finds out about inheritance and the will. She shuts Cal all the way out and puts up this guard. Now I understand her reason for being mad and upset, but at the same time to understand what's going on you have to talk with your SO and understand why they're doing what they did. At times it made me feel like Lana doesn't want to trust Cal and she doesn't care for him like that. But towards the end of the book she finally let her guard down and let Cal in. Culturess: Your upcoming release is Final Offer which is book 3 in your Dreamland Billionaires series so I have to ask are you a Disney fan and if so, what inspired you to write a series centered around a similar establishment? The first in the Dreamland Billionaires Series. I actually read this second and the second one first, so please note you can read them as standalones.Culturess: Without giving away any details about Final Offer, I will say that it’s unlike the previous two installments in the series. Did you always know that was how Cal’s story was going to be? Final Offer takes the second-chance love and small-town romance tropes and creates a really beautiful and heartwarming story that’s genuinely sweet and emotional. It’s a lot more touching than the other two books and although it contains Asher’s trademark sprinkling of spice, it’s actually pretty adorable. Final Offer doesn’t feel like a conclusion to a series. It feels a like a middle book. When the book eventually did conclude, it was underwhelming. However, the romance does shine with outstanding and memorable moments with Cal and Alana. Those moments are sparse and mixed between drawn out events. To receive my inheritance, I was tasked with spending a summer at the family lake house before selling it. Lauren Asher: I always knew I wanted Cal and Lana to reunite, but the idea of how wasn’t decided upon until I got around to writing his story. Originally, I was headed in the direction of another office romance but a last-minute idea I bounced off my mom turned it into the small-town romance.

Perfect for fans of Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score and It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. When I broke her heart six years ago, I promised to never return to Lake Wisteria. I kept my word until my grandfather’s will changed everything. Cal is totally swoonworthy; not only is he a committed cat dad, but he is also so sweet to Lana’s daughter, Cami, and it was very cute to see Cal develop an almost instant dad-like connection with Cami. Seeing how Cal learned to use books as a healthier way of coping with some of his mental health struggles was great to see and I think that other readers will connect with this as well. My favourite part of Final Offer was the epic trip to Dreamland (the Kane family’s Disney-esque theme park), which included a princess makeover and fireworks! Asher included some comedic elements in this novel that were brilliant; for example, Cal unknowingly volunteers to dress-up in an embarrassing costume for the community Strawberry festival. It was great having the other Kane brothers (and their significant others) still part of the plot in Final Offer and made regular appearances throughout the novel. Without spoiling anything, I felt like the ending, both of this story and the series, was very fitting. Always having an imaginative streak, Lauren Asher would focus on her love of reading and writing from a very early age. This passion of hers would develop over time, allowing her to essentially become the full-time novelist she’d always wanted to become. Refining and honing her craft throughout the intervening years, she’d come to establish her own unique voice with its distinct style and tone.It always feels hard and bittersweet to say goodbye to a series I've been in love with for so long, but, at least, it was in the best way possible. Cal and Alana’s story has my heart and it is by far my favorite in the Dreamland Billionaires series. If you’re getting excited about Final Offer or just want to know more about Lauren Asher, then our Q&A is exactly the treat you need before Final Offer comes out. Lauren Asher talks about Final Offer, inspiration, and more in our interview. Also, I need to mention that Camila Theresa Castillo is, as previously stated, a star! Cami’s the cutest, funniest and smartest kid there is. I loved seeing her scenes, seeing her the way she talked to and manipulated people (lol, poor Cal, he honestly never stood a chance), and, most of all, I love her relationship with her mother and her relationship with Cal—the amount of girl dad energy he gave and the father-daughter energy they had from the beginning were insane. All across the USA, people are showing up dead. The deaths don't appear to be connected in any way until one particular death occurs and gets the Secretary of Defense's attention. He arranges for a task force to investigate. As much as I love the grumpy sunshine trope going on with the first two books, I love the golden retriever energy that Cal has and his undying loyalty that he has. I love his determination to change for himself and becoming a person who would be deserving of a better life.
