About this deal

I found the perfect amount when I had one dog was four KONGs, as it allowed me to rotate them easily throughout the week. But there’s more to KONG than just throwing one over to your pup every now and then. You can fill them with tasty treats, use them to mentally and physically stimulate your pup, and even bust one out during a training session. IMPORTANT: While it’s perfectly fine to give your dog a Kong toy that just came out of the freezer, it’s NOT okay to give your dog any food item that just came out of the microwave! Make sure any heated items have completely cooled to room temperature before serving to your dog. Supplements (pictured here: Thrive Bladder Supplement for our puppy, who’s prone to bladder infection) Finally, there are some really important dog welfare points that we have to consider when using stuffed Kongs.

Training:KONGs are a great crate training tool, plus they help ease anxiety and tire overactive dogs. They’re a great outlet for chewers! Hi Tina, thanks for the message! The Kong will only hold value for most dogs whilst there is food in there and that is all we would ever expect for most dogs. By making the Kong more difficult you can increase the amount of time your dog spends chewing though!Just be careful. This is a messy treat, so avoid giving this to your buddy on any rug you’re particularly fond of.

CRUNCH ‘N MUNCH: Combine crumbled rice cakes and dried fruit with some cream cheese and plain croutons. I advise putting all regular ingredients in first and then including wet ingredients last – OR – layering everything dry/wet/dry/wet.Would it be better to not stuff the bottom hole and only put dry biscuits in there to have air circulation, then use different layers of wet and dry food from there before freezing? When first stuffing the Kong, putting small dry treats or kibble in the Kong will make it easier for your dog to get it out of the toy and learn how it works. You only need to fill the Kong 1/4th or 1/3rd of the way to start. For starters, see why it’s important to use different kinds of treats each time you stuff your dog’s Kong Toy.

Next, you’ll take some Kong Easy Treat or peanut butter and cover the openings. The scent of this product will get your dog excited. Finally, you’ll want to introduce the Kong to your dog with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Get them excited in the same way they are for other toys that they love. Play a little tug-of-war or hide and seek with your dog before giving it to them so they are in a playful mood. Can I Leave My Dog With a Kong? If you have multiple dogs, give each one their own Kong to avoid any territorial issues! Also, keep in mind that not all toys are perfect for dogs to share, so find a toy that is safe for your pooch to play with alone.

They can also help improve dental health. The chewing motion of dogs is similar to the brushing action that people perform on their teeth, so giving your dog a chew toy has the potential to help improve oral hygiene over time! For the simplest Kong treat of all, just smear a little peanut butter or honey around the inside of the Kong. You’d be surprised how long your dog will work at this simple little treat. I’ve been stuffing the Kong for 2 months now for all the meals because I was told that it would get them hooked on the Kong so that they would want to use that when they need it. But right after they’re finished eating they don’t want anything to do with Kong’s and they get bored very easily. Got any ideas how to get them to keep using it when they need it.
