About this deal

The artwork continues to be explosive and pretty good, although the pacing feels a bit too accelerated, making it seem like everything ends as soon as they start. The following day, he realizes that it was only the people present for Fumikage's story that heard the buzzing and name calling, with Minoru's neighbour, Izuku, not hearing anything. Hanta jokingly wonders if they were really cursed, Rikido wonders just how scary the story really was, and Denki starts to explain to the others around them about the tale. Katsuki and Shoto were also in earshot, with Katsuki storming out of the room yelling at them not to tell weird stories near him; Izuku thought to himself that he might scare easily. Kyoka jumps in saying that she heard the buzzing too, validating them in their supposed delusions, but also worrying them about the potential of an actual curse being real. Seeing his fellow classmates worried, Tenya steps in to help investigate what's going on.

I left myself on such a cliffhanger with volume 2 (I had to reread the last couple chapters just to catch myself up).

I'm actually really enjoying the pace of the manga! The anime, which I love with my whole heart, brings the manga and its action sequences to life (hello! the All Might fight scene in the USJ stadium was so cool in the anime!) but the anime can drag sometimes. Although I also prefer the dark, biting sense of humor of the One-Punch Man series, but My Hero Academia really has some impressive characters and interesting plots to get it going! For example, lida is very interesting too! Izuku is in the center of the cover, wearing his gym clothes, kneeling and reaching out his right hand. Tomura is on the far left of the cover, glaring fiercely. Shoto is on the far right of the cover, wearing his first hero costume. Eijiro and Katsuki are at the bottom right of the cover, beneath Izuku, also wearing their hero costumes. Ate que, finalmente, a esperanca e a salvacao, All Might chega para salvar o dia! E ele nao esta sorrindo! Sera que ele sabe que era tudo uma armadilha e que os viloes detem meios para, de fato, eliminar o Simbolo da Paz…?! It's nice to see how these young heroes find themselves in practical situations to put to good use their theoretical experience. The table is set with a good tease of the villains to come in the near future and the story continues with its own version of a sports event. the story is significantly more complex that it emerged in the first 2 volumes. Volume 1 really presented our main characters and their interactions; and the power of sheer will. Volume 2 already conveyed a super complicated dynamic between the heroes and the villains in which the youngsters are thrown into. Sure, there are still conflicts and interesting relationships in the classroom yet the powerful aspect is that young heroes are stretched to their limits since the very beginning. And they are not expected to win alone - so much that they do not unlike many other manga stories - yet they provide extremely valuable support and skills to the adult heroes.

The Sports Festival is one of my favourite story arcs of this series, it's so great to see everyone's quirks all together and to see the pros and cons of each one. I like how even some the members of the Hero Course came in last to show that not all of them are are strong as they could possibly be yet and that there is always a chance for the people on the other courses too! With all the students having left for class, Yuwai remains cautious as they make their way through the corridor, staring in awe at the lush courtyard below outside. Making their way into the elevator, they manage to press the buttons that send them down towards the bottom floors, only to be met with a mysterious noise once the door opens. The intensely loud noise turns out to be from two vacuum cleaners, which Yuwai realizes are from two humans the others call Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo. They recall a conversation that occurred the night before between Koji, Denki, Tenya, and Mashiaro, talking about if the two of them would be able to handle staying inside by themselves. Yuwai remembers that they had been confined to the building as punishment due to sneaking out at night to have a big fight. They think about how male rabbits are naturally prone to rough housing and fighting, and worries that Koji would not be able to handle that kind of conflict. Just like the Season 2 ending, the Bonus chapter takes influence from the results of the 2nd Popularity Poll, depicting the characters in a fantasy setting, with the winners of the Top 10 being the only ones who appear in the story. It also confirms the fan theory that the dragon Katsuki rides in the ending is a transformed Eijiro. This is the volume where things get interesting - for those who have watched season 1 of the anime that is - since here we reach the point where the anime stopped and get to know how to story goes on. I was super excited to know how things will turn out, how the members of class 1-A are developing. To my surprise lots of declaration of rivalry happened but at the same time it makes me happy since this will create the opportunity to get to know them better, in deeper depth.

What would the world be like if 80 percent of the population manifested superpowers called “Quirks”? Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Being a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study? The Hero Academy of course! But what would you do if you were one of the 20 percent who were born Quirkless? Lots of stuff will happen and Izuku will get swept up by the crowd! See you all same hero time, same hero manga! What is the logical thing that follows a near-death experience that left everyone devastated and scarred for life? Why, a sport festival! With zero stakes and no tension!

Re-Read: I LOVE THIS SERIES WITH ALL OF MY HEART. This is definitely a stand out in the series for me! We finally get to see more from different students & the sports festival is just so fun to read about. My daughter doesn't like reading much, but is totally engaged in these ‘My Hero Academia’ books, and like all of these series of books, No.3 has wonderfully creative animation that my 11 yr old copies in her sketch pad. Shoto and Mei properly introduce themselves after rounding up most of the machines, which had accidentally all turned on while she was transporting them. After gushing about several of her inventions, including showing off a special crane meant to tie-up villains, she tells him there's just one more missing, which they head off to find, while Shoto also asks her to be on the lookout for his photo too. At this moment, Recovery Girl appears, taking a walk around the school for exercise, and agrees to assist in looking for the "cherry-looking device" with them. She starts to talk with Shoto about Endeavor's time at U.A., and all the times she had to treat him due to how hard he put himself to work, triggering painful memories within Shoto; he tells her to stop and she apologizes. And then the story becomes all about this U.A. Sports Festival. Every event was able to spotlight more characters, which I liked.
