The deaths don't appear to be connected in any way until one particular death occurs and gets the Secretary of Defense's attention. He arranges for a task force to investigate.There's no word yet on who will pen the screenplay for The Wager, but Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas are set to produce for Imperative Entertainment, along with Scorsese for Sikelia Productions, and DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson via their Appian Way Productions, while Richard Plepler of Eden Productions is attached to executive produce the film adaptation.

Disclaimer #2: If I HAAAATED this author and wanted to punch her in the face, I would still LOVE this book (which would piss me off, so I'm glad I like her). Afia is masterful at capturing Harlem in the twenties, sweeping the reader away to the glamour. The fashion, the language, the clubs - her worldbuilding is lush, while at the same time authentic. I don't know that much about this period of history, but I never doubted a single detail of this amazing book.
