About this deal

I have this one for a while now and just got Layton and guess what… I tried them side by side and I hoped that Layton would give me the better quality but it is exactly the same. From opening to far dry down. Even the performance is the same and that is 4 to 5 hours on my skin. So upon first receiving this all I really smelled was like a blast of mint or like dentyne ice chewing gum, I was immediately turned off from this and kinda left it in my closet to sit for about a month with the cap off, thinking it might need time to to macerate? Blind buy review... this smells like Layton! :-) Is it better than Layton, I couldn't say fairly as I don't own Layton, it's perhaps missing some layers of complexity that Layton offers, however what I will say is I now no longer have the desire to buy Layton. This scent is incredible!!

Détour Noir Al Haramain Perfumes for women and men

it may seem similar to Détour, but smelling side by side (right and left hand), the difference is clear. Ebert, Roger (June 7, 1998). "Great Movies: Detour". Chicago Sun Times . Retrieved December 11, 2007. I feel like the sillage is good but I can't say for sure, the longevity is really good for a cheaper fragrance as well. Probably 6-7h. This is a dupe of Layton PDM with good approximation overall. The menthol in the opening of Layton is slightly more obvious. Both have excellent performance, although Layton outperforms slightly.

I think the tea and violet come through in a very mild way. A similar smell as Armaf Craze opening , if you are familiar with it, but milder.

Secondly, I had Layton early version (2015) and recent version (2021). Détour noir smells exactly same to the early one and way better and smoother than 2021. Arabic Perfume For Men , Arabic Perfume For Women , Luxury Perfumes & Colognes (Gift Boxed Sprays) , Luxury Perfumes & Colognes (Gift Boxed Sprays) I’ve never smelt LAYTON so can’t say if it’s a good clone or not but this is an amazing fragrance. If you like 1 Million by Paco Rabanne or Spicebomb by V&R… this is in the same ballpark, does smell a teeny bit chemical or ‘mass’ produced but it’s still a fantastic spicy bomb… It lasts ages and has mega projection so best spray sparingly. Would be a great holiday or Manchester/Newcastle clubbing scent. Bottle isn’t that bad. Late-Nite Detour for DRIVE-THRU "APPLE-PIE." This scent, its name & bottle never really made sense to me before I tested it again recently and I think I might be getting it now (let me know if you agree). A dupe of Layton Parfums de Marly with good approximation and excellent performance, this beauty opens with a fruity-aromatic burst of cypress, supported by jasmine & almond. Cypress here bringing some zesty aromatics with menthol & fruity near-apple undertones, jasmine bringing some musky, fruity white-floral hints, and almond bringing a faint nuttiness with almond-extract tones that have a hint of cherry. That all deepens into the heart of heliotrope (dubbed the "cherry-pie flower") supported by cedar and amber. This all rests on a fluffy, musky vanilla-sandalwood base. Needs a few weeks/months in dark storage after first sprays for the aromatics to settle down and the true scent profile to develop. First of all, the notes are right, but the main accords are all wrong, it's not musky violet or powdery at all!

This is growing on me, smells like sweet spicy apple pie with a hint of menthol. Performs well, the bottle is ugly AF but the atomiser is one of the best I own weirdly enough, it pumps out heaps of juice. I hadn't smelt Layton before I blind bought this, so I had no idea of the DNA. The menthol note was an interesting twist, but I'm getting used to it and enjoying it more now I've worn it for a couple of weeks.

But that bottle, why? It looks like a child's drawing of a cheesy 90's James Bond cologne bottle brought to life, complete with awful metallic plastic parts. So Please be informed that there have been no issues with the fragrance and the mentioned batch number. In fact, Detour Noir is a twisted and modified version of Detour Rouge, and their fragrance notes may be somewhat similar but both are different products of Al Haramain Perfumes. I do not own Layton but smelled it a couple of times only to remember its unmemorable nature. So this is a layman's take on the DN without comparison and reference to Layton.
