About this deal

BBC Teach offers a short film about the Valley of the Kings for KS2, presented by Dr Joann Fletcher. An adventure filled with ancient Egyptian gods and legends, Marcy is a clever girl whose love for her dad leads her to daring acts of bravery. It was excellent. I liked it when Marcy went towards the serpent and jumped out at his tail to free her father Join Marcy as she decodes hieroglyphs solves puzzles and learns about the ancient gods of Egypt in this thrilling second book in the Brownstone’s Mythical Collection series.

Disclaimer: Many thanks to NoBrow for the opportunity to read and review. Please be assure that my opinions are honest. This is the second book in Joe Todd-Stanton's book series Brownstone's Mythical Collection, which is situated in the liminal zone between picture books and comics. When her brave father is trapped inside the Sphinx, a fearful young girl must summon her courage to save him. In this book, readers will follow Marcy, from the adventure stories of her father she loves to hear every night to the adventures she takes of her own. Marcy is afraid of the dark, at home before sleep and out on an adventure with her dad. When a week has gone by and her father hasn’t returned from his urgent business away from home, Marcy decided to go rescue him. From her father’s office, she learns that he has gone to Egypt. Aim with a mission, she feels braver as she climb onto Wind Weaver to travel to Egypt. When Marcy arrives, she meet Thoth, god of knowledge and asks for his help to rescue her dad. He gives her two choices, either go into the belly of the Sphinx in the dark or find Ra, the sun god. Through many challenges, courage, and test of virtues, Marcy must decide the right path to take to rescue her father. Such a fun follow up to Arthur and the Golden Rope! Arthur has grown up, married, and become a father while still managing to be an avid adventurer. He notices that his daughter Marcy is hesitant to explore the world, so he sets off mysteriously to obtain a book in Egypt for her.It is fun and it’s about overcoming your fears, I have read this book twice and I’m school . It’s one of my favourites

Many years have passed since the tale of Arthur and the Golden Rope, and Arthur is now a world-famous adventurer. If only his daughter Marcy shared his enthusiasm for exploration. Book #2 in "Brownstone's Mythical Collection". Another pint sized hero who uses kindness, courage, and brains to save the day. This time it centers around Arthur's daughter Mary, who is afraid of the dark. This story introduces the reader to a few basic aspects of Egyptian Mythology. This was sooooo cute. I loved the illustrations and how the story developed. Cute story for children on how to overcome fear. The reader is once again welcomed by professor Brownstone, but this time he is in the Brownstone family's observatory, and is set to tell the story of Marcy Brownstone (daughter of Arthur Brownstone, the first Brownstone and protagonist of Arthur and the Golden Rope), who is afraid of many things and wonders if she is really an adventurer (like her father and mother). Yet when her father disappears, Marcy figures out that he has hone to Egypt, and she sets out to find him ... and save him.
