Tubigrip Tubular Compression Bandage - Australian Tubigrip Tubular Compression Bandage - Australian

The knee bandages need to be left in place for 48 hours after your operation. You will be given an elastic bandage (tubigrip) and wound dressings to apply at home. After 48 hours you can remove the bandage, padding and white dressings. Try to leave the steristrips in place for 5-7 days. How long can you wear a tubular bandage?Tubigrip™ contains natural rubber latex and thus should not be used on patients with latex allergies. In addition, patients with significant arterial disease (ABIs <0.70) should not use Tubigrip™ or other similar compression bandages because of the risk of inappropriate application and possible occlusion. Application Tubigrip provides firm support for sprains, strains and swelling. The product provides consistent and even compression (5-30mmHg sub-bandage pressure under a double layer). Tubigrip provides more consistent pressure levels across a wide range of limb circumferences compared to latex free elasticated tubular bandages*. Tubigrip compression bandagesare very simple to use and come in a variety of colours and sizes. They are a great tool for reducing swelling and providing support for all sorts of causes of minor knee pain. The benefits of it over other bandages are that it is easy to apply (just pull it on), it stays in place all day without the need for pins or tape and it is reusable and easy to wash.

How long does it take for foot swelling to go down? Tubigrip must NOT be worn in bed as it can reduce the circulation in the leg if you aren’t moving around, which could lead to a blood clot. It can also roll down and become uncomfortable.Tubular Shape: rather than a conventional roll of bandage material which has to be carefully wound around an area, tubigrip is tubular meaning that you simply pull it on and it encompasses the area evenly. Covered elastic threads working within the fabric move to adjust to the body allowing pressure to be distributed easily and evenly
