Win Lose Kill Die by Cynthia Murphy - LoveReading4Kids
Adolescent criminals seek the haul of a lifetime in a fantasyland at the beginning of its industrial age.SPOILER) Het enige positieve is is dat er een goeie twist zit aan t einde en dat is dat de hoofdkarakter uiteindelijk de moordenaar bleek te zijn wat je dus zelf als lezer ook niet wist. Morton Academy is a school for specially selected, high-achieving students. Being chosen as Head Girl is an incredible honour, and everyone wants to be the successful candidate. But when Head Girls start dying in unusual and violent ways, it becomes obvious that there is a serial killer loose in the school. Liv and her friends Kat, Taylor, Marcus and Cole are determined to discover what is going on, and begin to investigate. It soon becomes apparent that no one is safe from the killer, and that becoming Head Girl may not be such a prize after all. Add in a secret society, Jewel and Bone, and an enthralling story begins. And seriously, if you get wounded by a rusty nail or somethingā¦. at least go to the doctors. I get that you are hard at work and you need to do all sorts of things, but this is important. It just didnāt make sense and I was just rolling my eyes. There were also questions posed that were never answeredā like how did Marcus know about Frankās death. The main character does she much investigating and questioning in her own head that doesnāt make sense if she was the killer. So, Cole was my guy. Thereās NO WAY that someone can be this much of a nice person and not be sus. I flat out thought that was going to be the premise of this was that Liz was going to be like āOh nO - *betrayal*ā.

I loved reading about this school though, just like in Truly Devious this is a special school for special kids. They all have something they are amazing at and can hone and sharpen those skills. We have a few math wizards, some people who are great at art. It was really fun! Plus, that food served at the canteen (and then especially the weekends) sounded awesome. The students at Morton Academy are high-achievers, selected based on academic excellence. So when a series of murders target the school's brightest and best, the pressure is on. Someone is determined to stop at nothing to clear their path to the top. But who is it? And can they be stopped? Dr. Patel and what was going on with her? I was never a fan of the woman, especially after some murders and how she acted towards it. I am happy we find out more about the whys and the hows, and while I didnāt feel much sympathy still, I could understand her motivations just a bit more.

selectedStore.City }}, {{ selectedStore.State }} {{ selectedStore.Country }} {{ selectedStore.Zip }} Niamh is a great character, brave and feisty and determined to solve the horrific mystery she has become embroiled in. The other characters in the book are all well written and the author makes the reader distrust each of them so that we do not know until the end of the book who is truly on Niamh's side. I especially liked Jess, who becomes a real ally to Niamh. The ending of the book is a tour-de force of horror, with open coffins, bundles of bones and Niamh in deadly danger from a vengeful ghost. I would recommend this to anybody who enjoys crime and thriller books and people who like horror and books with a creepy, supernatural twist. I would rate it 5 stars because it had a great plot and I really enjoyed reading it.

The chapters we are reading, the normal ones, donāt seem to indicate that she isnāt scared, that she knows who did it. Like her tone does seem frightened and scared and wanting to find out who did it. She offers to search around and look for things, just for her to what? get caught? it doesnāt make much sense. The whole bathroom scene, why would she lie to us the readers about the steam in the mirror. Maybe itās be different if she just said it, but she was lying in her first person perspectiveā it just didnāt make sense. And her whole personality just changed at the end, we didnāt see any of this side of her at allā there was no foreshadowing no anything. What is better than Boarding School tropes? When there is also mystery and murder! And some more! Teehee!
