As modern USB devices shift to USB-C, I knew I needed to upgrade my car charger to something that could support the full range of USB-C powered/chargeable devices. With this charger from UGREEN (from whose products I have experienced exceptional performance for a while now), I can now charge everything from phones and flashlights to tablets and laptops, plus I can power my dashcam at the same time.

The typical USB PD charger voltages are 5V, 9V, 15V, and 20V. Not all chargers support all of those voltage levels, but the Dell 130W charger does. (EDIT: It seems the Dell 130W charger may be limited to only 5V and 20V. This is why the Anker 727 Charging Station gets the win on this list due to its substantial 100W Power Delivery, variety of ports, and charging options. The way USB PD works is that everything always starts off at 5V for compatibility with legacy devices that don't support USB PD, because 5V is what "regular USB" has always used. Then the charger advertises any additional modes it supports, and the device is then allowed to choose from those alternate modes if it wants them. This prevents chargers from trying to supply higher voltages than the device can support, and it prevents devices from trying to draw more than the charger can supply. So yes, it will be completely fine. This latter feature is important to me. When we travel as a family, it's inevitable that someone will need to charge their iPad, while another will need to charge their phone, and so on. At this point you have to buy a number of chargers, or you have to hope that a single charger can power all of your devices. At 130W, the UGREEN charger can handle multiple devices quite well. To test it out, we took it along for our Thanksgiving drive to visit relatives. The bottom line is that it didn't break a proverbial sweat when two phones and an iPad were plugged in at the same time. It also performed quite well powering individual devices. There's no drop-off with other brands I've tried in terms of the time taken until fully charged.

When I received this in the mail, I admit my wife gave me a side-eyed look...not *another* car charger! But after I explained the appeal of UGREEN's charger, she understood. First, it's a sturdy build - better than the fast charger from a top competing brand. Second, there are three charging options based upon your needs - two USB Type C ports, one USB Type A port, and each capable of a different power load depending on your device. (IMPORTANT: If intend to use this charger for an iPhone up to version 14, you'll need to get either a Type-A or Type-C-to-lightning cable.) Razer tosses a 2-meter (6.5-foot) Type-C to Type-C cable with fabric rope design in the box. While the charger has U.S. prongs built in (that collapse for travel), Razer also includes two adapters that fit U.K. and EU outlets. These adapters slot into the charger if you need them and help justify the price a bit.
This $180 charger is one of the most expensive out there, but it's likely the best for frequent travelers who need the most power.
Plus, we don’t even really know the particulars of said negotiation – according to the article, they used load testers set to deliberately overdrive the power supplies. A real-life, laptop-grade PD sink is a subtler construct, designed by dint of obediance to the PD rules to specifically not do this kind of thing. The fact that the RavPower supplies reset themselves under these contrived and extreme conditions is good behavior, no? If you aren't convinced try this with distance in meters, or light years or use weight in pounds or kilograms. This is an excellent charger that delivers the wattage as advertised. You can see in the attached pic it is simultaneously charging two USB-C devices at 95W + 29W. (The small shortfall could be due to cable quality or measurement error, which I'm not too concerned with.) There is also a UGREEN 100W-rated USB-C cable in the box, which is great since that's normally something you need to buy separately. Genuine Dell-branded parts undergo rigorous testing by qualified engineers to ensure compatibility and reliability in your Dell system.

RAVPower Pioneer 61W (RP-PC112 ): This 61-watt charger isn’t as small as the Aukey Omnia PA-B2, but it gets significantly warmer after 20 minutes running at 59 watts. Aukey Omnia Mix 65W (PA-B3) : Aukey's USB Type-C / Type-A charger is also really good and about on par with the RAVPower Pioneer RP-PC133 while weighing less. However, we found that in real-world charging, the RP-PC133 gave more power to a laptop (51 watts vs 38) when a phone was attached to the Type-A port. Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro. I love how the charger has additional "A"&"C" ports that will independently support up to 30w of charging capability so that someone else in the car can charge their device simultaneously. I have no tested the charger with all 3 ports consumed at the same time so I can't comment on if the charger splits the wattage on the 30w ports, but I imagine it probably does just due to limitations. My only critique of this chargers is that it is has a somewhat tall profile and can wiggle a little if forced, but odds are this won't bother anyone too much. Even with the wiggle it does not interrupt it's primary power connection to the vehicle. All in all, this is a great charger! While most modern-day mobile devices charge over USB-C, there are still many gadgets, including budget Android tablets and Raspberry Pis older than the Pi 4, that utilize micro USB. Though you can buy a USB-C to micro USB adapter, many of us have drawers full of USB-A to micro USB or USB-A to USB-C cables. So it can be pretty useful to have a USB-C Laptop Charger like the RAVPower Pioneer RP-PC133, which has a secondary Type-A port.First of all, for the size of this thing, the fact that it can do 100W charging at all is impressive. I do wish the port itself had a different color interior to differentiate it from the standard USB C port, instead of the small marking on the charger face. But what exactly do you mean when you claim that I “have been wrong on this”? I said earlier in this thread that using the Dell charger with a smartphone would be fine, in that it would not damage the phone or charger, since you specifically wanted to know if you could use the Dell charger with your smartphone without "destroying" it. I did NOT say that the Dell charger would charge your smartphone at maximum speed, in fact I specifically DID say in my earlier post above that not all USB PD chargers support all voltage levels. So maybe be a bit more careful before you go around telling people they’re wrong -- especially considering that in the same post where you claimed I was wrong, you yourself were wrong about how amperage delivery works, since you suggested that future USB PD chargers provide a wide range of amperage levels, which isn't how the spec works. Next time, instead of incorrectly calling people out for being wrong, perhaps just thank them for taking the time to try to help you, even though you're just some random person on the Internet to them and it's not like they're being paid to take that time out of their lives to help you. Anker PowerPort Atom III (60W) : At 4.6oz, this is the heaviest 60-watt charger and it’s also the largest. It also gets warmer (127 degrees Fahrenheit) than competitors in the same capacity when running at one degree below rated wattage. Having come out in mid-2019, this is one of the older GaN chargers out there, and it shows. If you’re using a 16-inch MacBook Pro or another USB-C laptop that requires more than 65 watts of juice, the Aukey Omnia PA-B5 is your best bet. This super-svelte charger can not only hit its rated 100-watt output capacity but, in our tests, it exceeded that number by more than 10%, delivering 113.7 watts (19.6V / 5.8A), which is more than the USB-PD standard even supports.
