About this deal

Seeing her come out of her shell was so beautiful! I have had a similar experiences like Maggie had as a young person. I was cheering her on by the end of the book when she stood in her strength as a BOSS! Once she let her true Domme/Brat Tamer nature come through it was a BAB in the building! Male Main Character Sara’s passion in life is to normalize a reading experience which pushes the boundaries and empowers women to own their sexuality. Things which trigger her soapbox rants are discrediting the romance industry or belittling all of its readers by calling it “trash”. What a twist on the traditional age gap when instead a woman discovers her inner domme, who also has a thing for brats. Enter Beau featured in Lob and he definitely fits the title. Both are new to their naughtiness and their roles: who would have expected the normally quiet Maggie to embody a dominant personality and the egotistical Beau to be submissive? Sure I could see his bellows features, but sub? Surprise surprise.

Burn for Me” is a stand alone novel and was released in 2021. Everly ruined his life. It was her investigation that got his dad shipped off to jail. It’s Everly’s fault that his mom killed herself right after. She has regretted it every day since then. When he turns up in her journalism class, she knows she is in trouble. When Sunny’s got the opportunity to get out of Pineridge and begin a future for herself, he should really let her go. But he does not. She is beginning to learn that his family’s secrets go much deeper than she first believed. The more that she learns, the more ways that he finds to punish her. Cullen wants to ruin Everly for life, and she’s afraid he has already. She enjoys taking risks and writes her stories right from the heart. And she wants nothing more than to be an author that readers trust to give them books which are steamy yet with some well rounded characters and a strong storyline. I haven't read the other books in the series, but the MMC is like 22 and was apparently a jerk to his ex-girlfriend, who was the FMC in a previous book. Cheated on her, etc. She ended up hooking up with his dad, and now they're living together and planning to get married, acting all lovey-dovey around him. I know this is a popular trope, but from a parent's point of view, what a terrible dad. The MMC is portrayed as this spoiled jerk for resenting it, but what kind of a parent gets into a serious relationship (or any relationship, really) with their child's ex? That is such a HUGE red flag. I was furious on his behalf and just couldn't keep reading.

It’s bad enough being the only female owner of the Salacious Players’ Club, but I’m also the only one without a kink, or so I thought. Sara Cate is a USA Today bestselling author that lives in Arizona with her husband, dog, and kids. She enjoys baking in her free time. Good thing we got that boring stuff outta the way. Also, the FMC is in her 30s, works with 3 male friends in their late 30s/40s, and feels out of place with their girlfriends - because the guys are all dating these girls in their early 20s. It's implied that she just has trouble relating to other women. No, I don't think that's it. Also, apparently she's really uptight and prudy because she doesn't feel comfortable in a sex club. I think you can be totally comfortable in your own sexuality and not feel comfortable in a sex club! He is 22 and the son of Emerson Grant, another part owner of Salacious Players’ Club. He is also the ex-boyfriend to Charlie, Emerson’s fiancé/wife. He is described as emotionally volatile and unruly. He looks like a young version of Emerson. The challenge is tougher than she first expected. Nash isn’t just wild, but he’s also dangerous. And Alistair is much more broken than he allows the world to believe. The three of them are all bound by grief. It is up to Zara to feed his hunger and heal Alistair’s pain.I recognize that a man can be submissive and not lose his manhood, but the same can be true that the hero can be alpha despite being a submissive brat. Their relationship had an air of father-son. Also, Maggie’s joy at the administration of pain and the key event of submission weren’t that appealing, maybe because of that, and to me they defied her alpha. Still, the self-education, research, and careful experimentation with character boundaries, especially Maggie’s, were well done. Plus the aftercare was sweet and so heartwarmingly reassuring. Such a brat! Beau was a character that I was trying so hard to hate because he was definitely hate-able at times! Ultimately, I fell anyway! I don’t even know how but the genuine side we caught glimpses of just stole my heart! His growth was so evident in how he acted with Maggie at their home but also towards the uncomfortable relationships in his life. When he had to interact with Emerson (his dad) and Charlie (his ex) at their wedding, I was on the edge of my seat just waiting for him to finally throw a fit! What happened instead was SO much better lol Beau, the ex-boyfriend’s girl, with Emerson, the ex-boyfriend’s father whose business partner Maggie was with his son. Oh, and the twist of potential hypocrisy between the four, punctuated by love for a son, was there too. I have to admit that the trepidation added to the fear and joy of the story, as well as the bittersweet healing: father, son, ex. Beautifully, the story described Maggie and Beau’s growth and acceptance, embracing them and being comforted by the lifestyle, especially after Beau gave it up. I enjoyed reading about her insecurities in her new roles. How Maggie talked jazzed up. I liked and found Beau’s meanness about wanting to be punished for an acquittal and having someone else lead him because he was out of control amusing.

Along with the domme sub dynamics of Maggie and Beau and reading A Hot Spoiled Guy Crawling Inside His Lover and other D/s sessions, hot!, there were a few exercises that didn’t appeal to me as much. I can still appreciate his adherence to the pillars of BDSM: safe, sane, and consensual. I can also admit that Beau probably justified it and asked for it.Despite her dark themes, Sara’s writing is always engaging and full of heart, making her a popular author among readers who love romance novels with lots of emotional depth. She strives to be a forbidden and taboo romance author that dares to tell stories that have toe-curling heat and heart wrenching plot. She’s a soft spot for age gap, a ton of angst, and guys so bad that you just cannot help but love them. Her books have big feels and high stakes. This book does get rather dark and anyone who considers themselves to be a sensitive reader should maybe skip this one. She does give a note at the beginning of the book that has a general disclosure. If you need specific triggers I’d say theses apply to this story: I have to rant about this, because I DNFd at 5% and it's been awhile since I was so angry at a novel. Premise is a woman who's part-owner of a sex club discovers she's sexually dominant and starts a relationship with her co-worker's bratty son, who's in his 20s. I loved how these two came together through a modern and surprising app developed by Salacious Players Club (SPC). Humor and irony were not to be overlooked. Just a fun mix of personalities that weren’t originally meant to be taken seriously, right down to the first text. This was the beginning of an exploratory and educational experience for both of them, which grew into a relationship.

Lines get crossed, and rules are broken. While on the island, there is nobody to tell them it’s wrong. Zara knows that she must choose before she succeeds in ripping this family apart. However she does belong to both of them. One has her heart, while the other has her body. I loved the realistic awkwardness and clumsiness of Beau’s father’s relationship with Beau’s ex-girlfriend. It was a touchstone, tangible and not swept under the rug, that added to the forbidden allure of Beau’s relationship with Maggie, his father’s business partner. I really enjoyed this book! I am probably the only one who read it without reading the rest of the series first, but this was the book I have been looking for! The premise of this book really drew me in and I haven’t read anything from Sara Cate before! Two people trying to figure out their kink together?! Perfection! The Sara Cate Experience means getting pulled into a story and escaping reality a bit for romances which are just as emotional as they are arousing. The steam is scorching and the feelings are strong. There isn’t ever one without the other because when love and sex come together, the result is fireworks. I don’t want to hurt him–I just want to punish him. It’s bad enough being the only female owner of the Salacious Players’ Club, but I’m also the only one without a kink, or so I thought. Imagine my surprise when the kink quiz suggests that I’m not so vanilla after all. In fact, I’m a lot more like Emerson Grant than I thought. Just one problem–I have no idea how to be a Domme. That is, until the app matches me with someone willing to help me learn. He’s too young for me. Too stubborn. Too good looking. And, oh yeah, my friend’s son. Beau Grant is a brat. I’d hate that about him if I didn’t love punishing him so much. Underneath all of that attitude is a man who is misunderstood, selfless, and in need of direction. But if he wants mercy, he has to earn it. There are a million reasons why I should stay away, but I’m tired of doing what everyone thinks I should do. I finally know what I want, and I’m ready to take what’s mine. Mercy by Sara Cate – eBook DetailsAs a side note, the chapter names were really funny at times and I had a giggle to myself at how perfectly they summed up the chapters! Spice Rating The vulnerability he’s expressing, the pain, fear, anger, all of it, is somehow as beautiful as much as it is haunting.” Maggie This book mostly takes place in The Salacious Players’ Club and Maggie’s home. They do go to several local businesses and it’s varied enough to give a real city feel. I was pleased with the world she created. I had a clear picture of what all the rooms they were in looked like. Not too much time and not too little time building. Genre & Tropes Genre
