About this deal

Take the advice and guidance from respected elders, scholars and ‘subject matter experts’: it’s always sensible to keep an open mind and absorb the wisdom of others. This work will enable the reader to self-analyse and assist him or herself in meeting their Creator with a 'sound heart'. Recent events however have allowed me to dedicate more time, and after a long and challenging self-publishing journey, with the help of some very special people (the editing team), including my dear wife and children, and with the duas of my dear mother and the inspiration of my late father, I managed to complete the book during the blessed month of Ramadan, alhamdullilah. Roughly around the same time, towards the end of my MBA studies, I lived with a medic whose particular quirk was to reference the ‘Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine’ with zeal. Its tabular design and colorful traffic light approach makes it easy to reference for a new generation.

The antidotes to our ailments are drawn from Qur’ānic verses and authentic ahādīth (Prophetic sayings), inspiring mindfulness of the Almighty Cherisher and His Beloved Prophet. Not only does it illustrate the maladies of the human spiritual condition, it recognizes the struggles and insecurities we all succumb to from time to time, and offers up the remedies. I am very pleased with the product (I got the ebook), and would highly recommend the book to my family and friends. Fantastic book mashaAllah; one that every Muslim who’s serious about wanting to purify his/her heart must own.The author has put in a lot of hard work to ensure that the reader can reflect and ponder over his shortcomings, which is a continuing duty upon a Muslim. A guide book on spiritual diseases and what you can do to be better your self as a a Muslim Inshallah . If you are still wondering how to get free PDF of book A Handbook of Spiritual Medicine by Ibn Daud. My journey to writing ‘A Handbook of Spiritual Medicine’ began almost 20 years ago at university, when I stumbled across ‘Purification of the Heart’ by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Hanson.

The importance of spiritual wayfaring cannot be emphasised enough, particularly in our times where the material realm is emphasised as the only means to human happiness and progress. Like some sort of charm, he would lift this cheese-and-onion coloured textbook from his pocket on a daily basis to pore over notes which ran the whole gamut of the known medical and surgical world. The tree diagram allows the reader to identify an illness quickly along with its remedies and symptoms. The ideas for the book were borne almost 20 years ago, yet it was only 3 years ago when I began my journey in earnest, stealing time during evenings when working away from home, and weekends in and around work and family commitments. Open Library is an initiative of the Internet Archive, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. The idea of the book is to use it as a means of self-purification – the principles of the book are underpinned by the Qur’an and authentic Hadith.

Aided by distant memories of the Seven Deadly Sins from my younger school days at Catholic school, I could appreciate the categorisations that ran through Hamza Yusuf’s work and utilise them to provide a definitive structure, a plan for my own guidance. All of it makes sense and reminds you of the perfection of the Qur'an and the sunnah of the Prophet (SAW).My most favourite element of the handbook was the sections highlighting the exceptions of each illness.
