After the completion of the Mirage Tour in 1982, four members of Fleetwood Mac released five solo albums, with varying degrees of success. I bought an almost flawless original 1987 Fleetwood Mac - Tango In The Night edition as a replacement. On February 4th 1977, after a year of recording through hedonism, scandal and relationship break-ups the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac released their eleventh studio album, Rumours. Even the empty spaces on Tango feel like deliberately-wrought emptinesses—for instance, the airy synths that hover over the verses of McVie’s “Everywhere,” or Buckingham’s title track, which through its sense of space imparts the feeling of rowing through fog and mystery.

However, on songs like the atmospheric "Little Lies" and dreamy "Everywhere" I feel it makes them what they are. This is the essence of Tango in the Night: something falling apart but held together by an unearthly glow. What’s left, after these harsh fragments of reality are swept away, is Tango in the Night: a remarkably complete album, a lavish garden growing out of negative space.

Richard Dashut, who had engineered and produced Rumours, Tusk, and Mirage, was brought in to assist with the album's production. Sadly it was the final studio album to date by this line-up, but they definitely ended it on a high.
