About this deal

There is a standard version of the RPM80, but I opted for the Pro purely because I prefer external battery devices and this is the only real difference between the two.

Every so often you get a dud that’ll last only a couple of days before it burns but this is few and far between. Above the firing button is an airflow slot, with a second in the same position on the back of the device. Because if we don’t, then a million ACTUAL pod mods — you know, those low-powered plastic things we used to feature every day — will be long forgotten. Maybe SMOK has “nicer” screens on their more powerful vape mods, but for something as compact and pocket-friendly as the RPM80, there’s not an ounce of wasted real estate. While you’ve mentioned the mAh of the battery you’re using the more important parameter is the CDR value (Amps) or the maximum current the battery is capable of outputting. With two different pods, the SMOK RPM80 Starter Kit can utilize a myriad of coils and features an adjustable airflow control within the RGC pod and coil combination.

Powered by a single external 18650 battery, the RPM80 Pro can handle up to 80w, fully adjustable in 1w increments. These coils offer really good flavour, however the last set of 5 saw three coils in the bin in three days. The wattage (as well as battery life, coil resistance and even a puff counter) is displayed on a nifty little 0.

This sub ohm coil boasts a conical mesh structure, meaning e-liquid is heated at a faster rate than standard coils, resulting in enhanced flavour and cloud production. I always prefer to charge the battery externally but you do have the option to charge internally via USB. Ohm coil resistance, these replacement coils are suited to high VG e-liquids of 60% and above for optimum results. The airflow on the RGC pod is a great addition and I love that SMOK have included RBA coil options for both pods. The standard RPM80 has an internal 3000mAh battery, while the Pro version requires the use of an external 18650 battery. Both pods are black, with a smoked transparent black fluid reservoir and a fixed drip-tip/mouthpiece. Use these coils with RPM80 - most 70/30 liquids I use at 40-50watt setting and get around 1 week out of a coil before taste starts to go - but this is obv dependant on liquids. The Smok RPM replacement coils are recommended for use with both High VG 70+ (DTL), 50/50 Freebase(MTL) and Nic Salt (MTL) E-Liquids. I’ve been using a Samsung 25S 18650 battery and get a full day’s vaping before I need to swap out the battery or re-charge.

If you have the means (and want the RPM80, we might suggest grabbing two, so you’re never left without power for very long). Battery life on the SMOK RPM80 Pro depends on the type and capacity of the battery you’re using and which pod/coil you have installed. ohm DC MTLis a traditional design but dual coil construction will provide a larger heating area for more efficient vaping.

These coils don’t last very long (mine lasted 3 to 4 days before burnt taste started) but the air flow option with the rgc pod is way better than the rpm pod. Please ensure that your batteries can handle the extra power requirements, and that your mod can handle the amps. The menu is easy to navigate via the buttons and even has an option to change the colour of the text on the display. Just below the adjustable wattage buttons is the USB charging port and a sliding hinged latch at the bottom of the RPM80 Pro opens to take an external 18650 battery. I had been hoping to get a MTL hit with the air flow closed off all the way but it’s still a little too airy.
