About this deal

Slide the drip tray in, making sure the grounds bin is in place, wash out the water tank, fill it up and insert it, and turn it on at the back – press the on button. Bean to cup machines are more about convenience than anything else, and they’re more for the mainstream coffee drinker, and for latte, cappuccino etc. For this reason you'll usually find that most coffee machine brands state that their machines shouldn't be used with dark roasts. The way that traditional portafilter espresso machines produce espresso, allows us to create the best quality amplified coffee, in other words, the best tasting espresso. To conclude this nutshell review before I get into the more detailed section, if you're looking for a really simple, compact and affordable bean to cup machine capable of true double shots, and which will compete with most much more expensive options where coffee quality is concerned, I think the Brera is a great choice, and it's probably what I'd go for if I wanted a bean to cup machine.

Inspired by Italian design and craftsmanship, the Anima features a stainless steel front that will fit right at home in both traditional and modern kitchens. This sleek and stylish machine is designed with a classic gloss black finish, with silver trim, and is equipped with a whole host of powerful features. The only other thing is the steam/water dial, and that's really obvious too – you turn it towards the water icon for water (the teacup) and towards the steam icon for steam. If you hear a whooshing, roaring sound, you're over aerating the milk, you'll end up with more old school think foam that way, so just lift the jug up until you hear hissing, paper ripping type sounds. This feature gives you the unique possibility to personalize the intensity and flavour of your espresso. It dispenses steam to prepare gorgeous cappuccinos, latte macchiato and more, or hot water if you prefer teas. This is something that's possible with most of the Gaggia machines, but it's easier to do on the Brera than with others, as it's so quick and easy to access the the grinder. With our Gaggia range, you’ll find the perfect machine for your needs, whether it’s a bean-to-cup machine or an espresso machine. When you turn the Brera on, it defaults to three bean, and you simply press this button to toggle first to pre-ground (to allow you to use the grinder bypass chute, for pre-ground coffee) and then to toggle through the dose settings.

This is the same tried and tested Gaggia Anima, but instead of the Panarello steam wand, it has the same pro steam wand that you'll find on the Magenta plus. You can find all compatible maintenance products below, under the section labeled "Related Products. In addition to coffee beans, you can brew drinks using ground coffee blends—even decaffeinated ones. Most of us would fill our water bottles up fresh each morning if it wasn't empty, the same with our kettles, so why should we make coffee using water that's been sitting in there overnight? Choose from five different options to customise your espresso, from the finest grind for a strong taste to the coarsest grind for a lighter coffee. Unique body and taste for every espresso thanks to the pre-infusion function that implies few seconds of pause between the first shower of hot water and the actual brewing. The Maestosa is DeLonghi's only machine that differs substantially internally, as far as I'm aware, and that's a machine costing over two thousand pounds.

When it comes to double shots of espresso, you press the espresso button twice, and it will grind the corresponding amount of coffee to whatever setting you have it on, for instance, if it's set to default, it'll grind 7g of espresso, then pour whatever volume of espresso you have it set to (default being 25g) – it will then grind another 7g, and then pour another 25g of espresso. I'm looking for 1:2 extraction in 28 – 32 seconds, which is how I was trained when I did my Barista training. The grounds bin/dreg drawer icon will flash to tell you that the grounds bin needs emptying, which means knocking the pucks into the bin, compost, or garden. Other features of the Brera include a twin boiler, which reduces the time between pressing start and coffee output, and a dual cup dispenser.Tip: pour water into the water tank of your coffee machine first, then add the descaler (unless it's specified otherwise in the manual of your coffee machine).

A “double” shot on most Delonghi bean to cup machines is double the volume made with just slightly more coffee. The warranty does not cover for the losses consequent in nature, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of business. The model can also produce espresso from both ground coffee and fresh beans, making it suitable if you like decaf. Anima is equipped with a robust 100% ceramic grinder that turns beans into a fine powder and extracts maximum flavours, without ever tasting burnt. The only slightly challenging thing to do with the Brera would be to re-program the shot buttons if you want to do that, as you press and hold the shot button to start, and then press it when you've got the desired volume of coffee, and that's clearly more of a faff than just twisting a dial. The machine alerts you when it is time to descale it and guides you step by step throughout messages on the display. Another feature the Anima shares with the Brera is the fact that the drip tray isn't just the part that you can see sticking outside of the machine, but it covers the entire bottom of the machine, which means it has a decent volume, meaning you don't have to be continually emptying it.
