from the excerpts i read, i was super excited to read this book but i’ve never read more of a let-down. The challenges and pressures that come with being in the public eye add an intriguing aspect to the romantic storyline.
That’s not unusual for me – my 5 star reviews are rarely gifted (this year I’ve only done two so far, Pride and Prejudice and The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo).New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter. Overall, Hunting Eden is a captivating debut novel that combines romance, emotion, and a compelling storyline. I don’t know why the author made the FMC Scottish when she’s obviously American and I mean painfully American, like second hand embarrassment American.
I laughed - about wet myself, cried - broke my heart, shouted and fanned myself down multiple times while reading. That, or I’ve not considered the fact it constitutes a sports romance (which to my mind indicates that sports didn’t play much of a role, and therefore I haven’t read a ‘true’ sports romance before). She started spending more time with Hunter and their attraction started growing every time they were together. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. She and Hunter become close and whilst they know time isn’t on their side they work through their reservations and try give their feelings a shot.
This book at times made me smile, made me frustrated and made me sad, but left me with a smile on my face.
