The General Wine Company is a family-owned and operated wine merchant in Liphook, Hampshire, England. Myers's in 1879 in Kingston, Jamaica, Myers's represents over a century of authentic Jamaican heritage, pride, and history.

Beyond smoothness there's not much else going for it, faultless as a mixer but neat it's a bit two dimensional. Myers is a deep, reddish orange rum, with a smoky, tobacco nose and strong notes of clove that give a smooth taste leading to a clean dry finish. Named after brand founder Frederick Louis Myers, the molasses-derived blend of up to nine rums has been produced since 1879. Produced in Jamaica, Myers's rum continues to be distilled in the traditional pot still method and allowed to mature in white oak barrels. Myers's rum uses "only pure Jamaican molasses" and is "produced from continuous and pot still distillation and is then matured for up to four years in white oak barrels".

The label proclaims the motto "world famous, dark and mellow" and the drink is still presented in its original oval-shaped bottle and classic livery. Myers’s Original Dark Rum is a versatile rum that can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or used in a variety of cocktails.
