About this deal

David Icke, whose commendation of this author is her highest recommendation, added: “Another clique owns the Labour party and both cliques answer to a higher clique – the Cult. I suppose it is fitting that a book about a PM who lived in Lie Lie Land should have his story told by a devoted fantasist. Dorries’ undying loyalty to Johnson is clear in this book, which lays bare the delusions which a diehard group in our society collectively labour under, and which weaves a tale of deceit and conspiracy which they sadly likely believe to be true.

Only much less coherent and a lot lot less compelling than the movement born out of the 1990 betrayal. Told with unparalleled access, from multiple inside sources talking with astonishing candour, it reveals the shocking truth about powerful forces operating behind the scenes in the heart of Westminster and those who became the architects of a Prime Minister's downfall.I guess in reality that banks, influential people, newspapers and Murdoch etc have always had influence but guess the criteria to judge this is if benefits those lobbying when its at the expense of the British people. They groom potential leaders (and by extension, prime ministers), often choosing to remove them after a short period once they have outlived their usefulness. Earlier this year, Ms Dorries appeared to be positioning herself for a life after politics, launching a Friday night show in on TalkTV in February and she became a columnist for the Daily Mail in April.

The portrayal of those involved is simplistic - Boris Johnson and his loyalists are all pure, honest and “nice” or “lovely”, motivated only by public service, while his opponents (Michael Gove, Dominic Cummings, Rishi Sunak) are duplicitous, arrogant and motivated only by power. Naive fool that I was, I thought Theresa May’s premiership disintegrated because she threw away her majority with a calamitous campaign at the 2017 general election and then couldn’t produce a Brexit deal that parliament was prepared to vote for. ND seems to be in awe of Boris and totally smitten by his jolly japes personality of the ex public schoolboy.

Chapter 5 ‘You Know My Name’ (aptly named with Duncan Smith one of the few named sources in this book) contains a lengthy interview with the former Conservative leader, who happily indulges Dorries’s conspiracies about Westminster. The original Harper Brothers Company was established in New York City in 1817 and over the years published the works of Mark Twain, the Bronte Sisters, Thackeray, Dickens, John F Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. To access your ebook(s) after purchasing, you can download the free Glose app or read instantly on your browser by logging into Glose. Cummings ran amok in Downing Street for a while, but Johnson sacked him as an adviser less than a year after the 2019 election.

She has also had the privilege of interviewing the former prime minister himself and he swears to her, so it must be true, that he knew nothing of parties and he was at no parties. I thought Conservative MPs fired him because he was so embarrassingly useless at the job that some of them nicknamed him In Deep Shit. Though sometimes it seems to stretch credibility that almost all of the Tories are really anti-Brexit and that Boris is just so naive that he gets beaten at every corner, it rings true that they are all evil, back-stabbing bastards. Here, if I may venture a criticism of the author, she’s a bit of a letdown, pleading that “the legals” prevent her from full disclosure. You’ll remember that Boris Johnson, on becoming prime minister, took a keen interest in who should run both the BBC and Ofcom, the supposedly independent regulator which oversees it.And we know several of his colleagues in the Conservative Party dearly wanted fledgling channels like GB News to succeed. Humphrey said: “Nadine’s unique vantage point, unparalleled access to sources, and innate storytelling ability will provide readers of The Plot with a rare opportunity to walk the corridors of power and understand the behind-the-scenes machinations of Westminster. Her first ministerial appointment was as minister of state for patient safety, suicide prevention and mental health, in which role she garnered criticism for rejecting cross-party talks to discuss a package of mental health support for frontline workers during the pandemic.
