Days to Christmas – The King Cole Trio, led by Nat ‘King’ Cole was the first to record ‘The Christmas Song’ in 1946. And then, there's the flipside of creativity, as bizarre and outright terrible art is just as attracted to the Season as its more conventional counterparts.But his guitar playing is as great as ever and the disc is has a warm-hearted spirit, like your gruff uncle who secretly loves to dress up as Santa for the kids. Days to Christmas – Scandinavian Yogi Yorgesson (aka Henry Stewart) started as a stand-up / radio act during the 1930s. A quick flick through these awful Christmas album sleeves will have you in Grinch mode in no time at all.

It's hard to get much mileage out of "Jingle Bells," even if you spell out the title and try to make it groovy – where this disc shines is when it slows down, letting Sinatra caress every syllable in "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. The jazz hands and the tree might be welcoming, but the pained grimace on John's face seems to be warning us away.
